PUBLIC TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

The 'Public Transport Authority', or 'PTA', is a department of the Government of Western Australia. It controls Transperth and Transwa.
This authority is the most recently constituted body governing public transport in Western Australia. In previous decades the most commonly remembered name of public transport was of the 'Western Australian Government Railways' which had both railway and road transport services - the same as the current PTA.
