Rail

Iarnród Éireann, a subsidiary of state-owned Córas Iompair Éireann, operates all rail services in Dublin including the DART.

Tram

★ Dublin's Luas tram system is owned by the Railway Procurement Agency and operated by Veolia Transport Ireland (formerly known as Connex).

Bus

Historically, bus services in Dublin were operated mainly by the Dublin United Transport Company, which was incorporated into CIÉ in 1945.
Today, two subsidiary companies of state-owned Córas Iompair Éireann operates most of the bus services in and around Dublin but a large number of other companies also provide services. While all routes are licenced by the Department of Transport, the Department does not provide a public information service and as there is no overall city transport authority, it is difficult to obtain information about which company serves which area without local knowledge. The Dublin Transportation Office has a website which provides links to some of the operators own websites. The information below is the best available as of July 2006.
