R. D. Parker Collegiate has several science programs, Science 10F (the usual senior one program), Science 20F (senior two program), and divided courses of physics, biology, and chemistry for senior three and four.
Science 10F contains four major areas of study. They are Reproduction, Atoms and Elements, Electricity, and Exploration of the Universe. Reproduction studies sexual and asexual reproductions, Atoms and Elements focuses on the physical and chemical properties of matter, Electricity deals with electrostatics and sustainability issues in regards to electric power, and Exploration of the Universe studies the history of advancements in astronomy and how to locate and observe celestial bodies. A similar course, but smaller class size, Science 10F (R) is also offered.
Science 20F is the senior two science program, following from Science 10F. Divided into; The Dynamics of the Ecosystems, Chemicals in Action, Motion and Weather Dynamics. Science 20A provides much of the same material, but in a smaller class size.
Biology 30S introduces human biology. Cell structure, biochemistry, chemistry, and body systems are studied. Science 20F is a perquisite.
Biology 40S studies the evolution of the five animal kingdoms.
Biology 40G studies the heredity and genetics of a variety of plants and animals.
Chemistry 30S is focused on atomic theory. Chemistry 40S studies the periodic table, chemical bonding, reaction rates, equilibrium, as well as acids and bases.
Physics 30S Studies Newton’s laws of motion and the concept of Force Fields are introduced.
Physics 40S focuses on projectile, circular and planetary motion.
