' Raica Oliveira' (born January 22, 1984 in Niterói, Brazil) is a Brazilian supermodel, best known as one of the faces of Dior and Lancome.

Biography


Oliveira has two brothers: Givago (economist) and Pablo (lawyer) and she is currently living with her mother in New York. Shortly after winning 2nd place at the Elite Model Look International Final in 1999, Raica was christened "The sensation" at the fall fashion shows in Paris and Milan. She was one of the most talked about models of the season alongside fellow Elite stars Adriana Lima, Maggie Rizer, Oluchi and Karen Elson. She was featured in a Christian Dior campaign that appeared in ''Vogue'', ''Vanity Fair'', ''Cosmopolitan'', ''Glamour'', ''Mademoiselle'', and other fashion magazines. She was also featured in a Dolce & Gabbana parfums campaign. In 2006 Oliveira was unveiled as a spokesmodel for the cosmetics company Lancome[1] and fashion laicence Punto Blanco. Oliveira replaced top model Naomi Campbell at Selmark Underwear Collection 2006.[2] She worked for Victoria's Secret only once. Oliveira has joined the ranks of supermodels charging over US$ 20-thousand euros (16.6-thousand) to step out for TNG.[3] In February 2007 she appeared in ''Sports Illustrated''.[4] She is good friends with fellow Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima and Brazilian top model Ana Beatriz Barros. She has dated Brazilian football player, Ronaldo.[5] In March 2007 Oliveira joined IMG Paris and she also appeared in Ann Taylor advertisements.[6] She is the new face of Avon.[7] Oliveira plans to study philosophy at a university when she retires.

Charity work


Oliveira is a part of the Arte Solidaria fundation.[8] Raica Oliveira is pledged in beneficient causes. Top model will be photographed for a book in calendar format that the Hope House will launch in 2008.
