Reserve Team
'Rangers Reserves' are the reserve team of Rangers F.C..
They have been members of the Scottish Premier Reserve League since its foundation in the 1998-99 season. They play their home games at Broadwood Stadium, which is also the home of Clyde. The team mainly consists of Under-19 players at the club, although senior players occasionally play in the reserve side, for instance when they are recovering from injury.
The reserves' head coach is Ian Durrant, who played for the Rangers first team 283 times between 1984 and 1998. He had previously worked as Under-19s coach but took over the post after John Browns departure in June 2006.
The side have won the Reserve League only once, in the 2000/2001 season. They have finished 2nd twice in the eight years the league has been running, there worst ever performance was in the 2006-2007 season with a ''9th'' placed finish.
Under-19 Team
'Rangers Under-19 Team' competes in the Scottish Premier Under 19s League. In the 2006-07 season the team won the league and Scottish Youth Cup double, ending rivals Celtic's run of 6 consecutive league titles and defeating them 5-0 in the final of the Youth Cup at Hampden Park.
The under-19s play home matches at Rangers training ground Murray Park, but games are also occasionally played at Ibrox Stadium.
The Under-19s head coach is Billy Kirkwood. He is assisted by Tommy Wilson, whom also works with the Scotland under-19 football team.
The side have won the Scottish Premier League Youth 19s League twice, in 2001-2002 and more recently 2006-2007. In the six seasons since the Leagues foundation, Rangers Under-19s have only failed to finish outside the top three once. This was a ''5th'' placed finished in the 2004-2005.
