REDFIELD, BRISTOL

'Redfield' is an area on the east side of Bristol, around Church Road and near to Barton Hill and Lawrence Hill. The area is ethnically diverse, though it once had a reputation for racist political activity. Redfield is one of several areas in Bristol with high unemployment and low incomes. The 2003 Redfield Action Plan by David Wilson Partnership and 2md, commissioned by Bristol East Side Traders and Community at Heart outlines a number of measures to improve social and economic conditions in Redfield and its locale.
