'Resolute Bay' is a small bay located on the southern side of Cornwallis Island, in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. The community of Resolute is located on the northern shore of the bay and Resolute Bay Airport to the northwest. The current population in a 2001 census was 210 [1] and it is one of the most northernmost settlements in the world.
On the western shore, at , the Defence Research Telecommunications Establishment (DRTE) and the Communications Research Centre[1] operated a launch site for sounding rockets. Between 1966 and 1971 rockets of the types Black Brant and Boosted Arcas were launched[2].
