About

This church dominates the main square of Nové Zámky. It was built in the years 1584-1585. Initially, it was a simple late-gothic building, and was later rebuilt several times. The building with all its facilities was totally destroyed by a fire. Only the sacristy remained, and an eternal light from the presbyter was simple saved. Until 1867, the church had signs of a typical building in the late-baroque classic style. The last essential counstruction work was taken in 1877. The church acquired a neoclassic character that year. Also, the round shape of the windows probably comes from this era.
