RITA - QUEEN OF SPEED

'Rita - Queen of Speed' is an Intamin AG accelerator coaster located in in the Ug Land area of Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. It accelerates to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in approximately 2.2 seconds. The ride is based on drag racing, which is at odds to the rest of the themed area, based on a Prehistoric/Stone Age theme.

''Rita - Queen of Speed'' was Alton Towers' new addition for the 2005 season. The ride starts with the train rolling forward from the station area, which is then accelerated from 0-100km/h in 2.2 seconds, and negotiates high speed corners and airtime hills before then reaching the brake run parallel with the station.
