ROB WASSERMAN

'Rob Wasserman' is an American Jewish double bass player who has played with Dan Hicks, Van Morrison, Oingo Boingo, and Ratdog. Through his career, he has helped to popularize the use of the double bass in rock music. He has also proved that it can be used as a lead instrument like a guitar, as well as a backing instrument.
Wasserman started playing upright bass as a solo artist, but partnered with the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir to form Ratdog. After some time with the band, he left and was replaced by bass guitarist Robin Sylvester.
