Some older models of amplifiers can be run below their ''rated stable impedance'' to produce more power but still maintain their reliability.

Some enthusiasts insist that the older Rockford Fosgate amplifiers are of higher quality and power, but Rockford denies this, maintaining that their current models are of the highest quality.
