RONALD F. MAXWELL

'Ronald F. Maxwell' (born January 3, 1949) is an independent film director and writer from Clifton, New Jersey. He is most famous for directing the American Civil War epics ''Gettysburg'' (1993) and ''Gods and Generals'' (2003). The third part of the Civil War trilogy written by Michael Shaara and his son Jeffrey Shaara, ''The Last Full Measure'', is a project currently waiting for financial backing, since the bankroller of the first two parts, Ted Turner, backed out following the poor reception of ''Gods and Generals''.
A New Jersey native, Maxwell graduated from New York University (NYU) Institute of Film in the late 1960s and is a member of the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
