ROOSEVELT/WABASH (CTA)
'Roosevelt/Wabash' (more commonly known as 'Roosevelt') is an 'L' station on the CTA's Green and Orange Lines. It is an elevated station with a single island platform, located at 22 East Roosevelt Road in the Near South Side community area of Chicago, just east of State Street.
Free transfers to the Red Line subway station of Roosevelt/State are available at this station, and the Roosevelt Road Metra station is about ⅓ miles to the east. The station is also the closest 'L' station to the Museum Campus of Chicago, which is about ½ mile to the east.

History
The original station on this site opened on June 6, 1892[1]. This station closed as an 'L' station in 1949, but was used by the Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad until 1963, when it finally closed and was demolished. Tracks still passed the spot, and trains resumed passing in 1969 when these began to route Dan Ryan trains into the Loop "L". The current station opened in 1992 as part of the new CTA Orange Line.
Due to the station's location as the first stop south of the Loop on the Orange and Green Lines, Orange Line trains tend to arrive more frequently than Green Line trains since the Orange Line circles the Loop and returns.
