The site
The existing school buildings are considered to be 'tired'. It is proposed to refurbish the buildings and construct a new pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school on an adjacent field.[1]
Athletics
The sports teams are known as Cassopolis Rangers. The Rangers are a member of the Lakeland Athletic Conference along with Berrien Springs, Brandywine, Bridgman, Buchanan, Coloma, Edwardsburg, and River Valley.
Cassopolis Rangers has a strong history in track, football, and basketball. In 2002 and 2003, the Cassopolis Rangers won the Lakeland Athletic Conference in basketball and the districts in 2001 and 2002.
In 2006, the football team went 9-0, winning the Lakeland Athletic Conference, becoming the first Rangers team since 1990 to win conference when they were co-champs with Dowagiac Chieftains and Lakeshore Lancers.
Edwardsburg is the main rival at every level of every sport; it is unofficially known as the M-62 rivalry.
