ROXBURY MALL
'Roxbury Mall' is a power center located on Route 10 in the Succasunna neighborhood of Roxbury Township, New Jersey. It is anchored by houses Kohl's, Shop Rite, Home Depot, Staples, and Linens 'N Things. The mall has a gross leasable area of 706,000 ft²[1]. It is located near the Ledgewood Mall. Despite its name, Roxbury Mall is not an enclosed shopping center, but a power center.
In 1991, 14 windows in the mall were shot out, and cars were leafleted with handwritten notes threatening their safety if they shopped at the mall. The incidents were believed to be related to subcontractors who had worked on a mall expansion project, but had not been paid.[2]
On December 2, 2002, two employees of a Funcoland store at the mall were shot and killed as part of a robbery in which $10,000 in merchandise was stolen.[3] In November 2003, examination of surveillance camera footage led to the arrest of three individuals connected to the crime.[4]
