SéAN WALSH
'Séan Michael Walsh' born 3rd July 1802 in Ogden, Halifax (West Yorkshire). He was well known locally as a poet, writer and artist in the rural Pennines often his work was inspired by the local country life. Furthermore, according to several diary entries - he was a good friend of the Brontë family. He died in 1872. His work can still be found today at the Dean Clough Gallery in Halifax.
His most famous article was a watercolor work of the Causeway Foot, Ogden moor. It is believed to have been painted around 1854 and is entitled "The Moorlands of Halifax".
