La Plaza de la Revolución Antonio Maceo acogió a miles de santiagueros que bailaron y disfrutaron de interpretaciones como, Después de todo, El Tren, y Chapeando uno de los últimos éxitos de la agrupación, con el cual titula Formell el más reciente disco compacto del colectivo. La ocasión fue propicia para que el Presidente del Poder Popular Municipal Luis Enrique Ibañez, entregara a Juan Formell la llave de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba. La presencia aquí de Formell y Los Van Van es parte de una gira nacional que este año auspicia el Instituto Cubano de la Música y que también los llevará a Manzanillo, Bayamo, Holguín, Las Tunas y Villa Clara. Después continuarán por Cienfuegos, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila y Camagüey, donde concluirá el 29 de enero la primera etapa del recorrido.
