SOS BORDERS

'SOS Borders' (Standing on Secure Borders) is non-partisan umbrella group of organizations and individuals dedicated to preserving the integrity of the borders of the U.S.A. with a particular focus on preventing illegal immigration and maintaining national security. Its constituent groups oppose the idea of amnesty bills and any "comprehensive" immigration legislation.^[1] It has links with the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, a citizen border patrol that has been criticized as being a right-wing militia.
SOS Borders helped sponsor a series of small anti-illegal immigration rallies in the first half of 2006, often in front of Mexican consulates.^[2][2] Counter-demonstrators claimed the group was anti-Mexican. The group now focuses on lobbying political representatives.
