SR CLASS V LOCOMOTIVE LIST

Below is a list of Richard Maunsell's SR Class V "Schools" locomotives. The class naming process was another product of the astute publicity department of the Southern Railway, being named after public schools firstly within the Southern catchment area, and latterly further afield. Pupils of these schools were allowed to visit "their" engine during the naming ceremonies.
