Sacred Cenote at Chichén Itzá
'Sacred Cenote' (Well of Sacrifice) is a noted cenote at the Maya site of Chichen Itza. It is accessed by a 900 foot sacbe (paved corridor) leading from the Great Plaza. The Sacred Cenote was used for human sacrifices to the gods in periods of drought.[1]
