'Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois' is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 23.5 km. (14.6 miles) from the center of Paris.
Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois recently gained notoriety outside of France because the discovery of Ilan Halimi's body occurred there.
Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois lies just north of junction 42 on the orbital Francilienne autoroute.

Attractions include the ''Donjon'', a park with animals, a grotto and an orthodox Russian Cemetery. Rudolph Nureyev, the famous ballet dancer is buried there in a spectacural tomb covered with mosiac decoration to represent a traditional russian blanket.
Nearby, there is parkland which borders on the river Orge (a tributary of the Seine) and a campsite at Villiers-sur-Orge.
