Sainte-Marie

'Sainte-Marie' is the fifth-largest ''commune'' in the French overseas ''département'' of Martinique. It is located on the northeast (Atlantic Ocean) side of the island of Martinique. In the 1999 census, Sainte-Marie had a population of 20,098. The commune has a land area of 44.55 km² (17.201 sq mi).
