About Sainte-Orse


The old and beautiful mansions of the village are grouped in two placesfe. Two châteaux built in the 15th and the 16th centuries and another in the 19th century, are the most historic in the village. These forested hills features a number of settlements, one with an architecture dating back to the 18th and the 19th centuries. The hazard on small shady roads includes the settlement of La Faye, the castle of Jouffre De La Faye, spouse of Maréchal Bugeaud. Saint-Orse had a continuous occupation since the prehistoric era and remains of survivals. rocks supposing of the rits, tonic, undoubtedly with the Celts in the Early Iron Age, mostly located near Peyrebrune. Some Cromlechs and Menhirs were in Saint Orse. These historic documents are founded in the town hall.
