SAM TROUGHTON
'Sam Troughton' (born 1977 [1]) is a British actor. He is the son of David Troughton and the grandson of Doctor Who actor Patrick Troughton. He is also the older brother of Warwickshire cricketer Jim Troughton. Sam studied drama at Hull University, graduating in 1998.
Troughton is an acclaimed Shakespearean actor who was nominated for an award while with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also starred in the horror films ''Spirit Trap'' (with Billie Piper) and ''Alien vs. Predator'', and several television productions including Sky One's ''Hex''. From October 2006 he appeared in the new BBC ''Robin Hood'' series, in which he features as Much. Troughton's grandfather Patrick Troughton starred in the first Robin Hood television series in 1953.
Troughton's stage roles include the love-struck Orlando in Samuel West's production of Shakespeare's ''As You Like It'' at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
