SANDRO PERRI

'Sandro Perri' is a Canadian musician and producer. His music has been called post-rock, electronic, experimental, ambient, folk and more. He is most famous for his work as Polmo Polpo, but has also been at times associated with the bands Great Lake Swimmers and Detective Kalita. He has played and recorded in duo formations with Eric Chenaux, Craig Dunsmuir (as Glissandro 70), Ryan Driver (as Double Suicide) and the late Todd Fox (as Dot Wiggin). He has toured his Polmo Polpo material both solo and in band formations, sometimes completely electronic in nature, sometimes using acoustic or chamber instrumentation, sometimes as a 6-piece rock band. He founded the Audi Sensa record label in 1999 to put out his own dance music 12"s, heavily influenced by Basic Channel, Arthur Russell and Joe Meek. He went on to release records for such labels as Alien 8 Recordings, Constellation, Intr-Version and more. In 2006, he released a solo album entitled "Sandro Perri Plays Polmo Polpo", in which he plays and sings completely re-imagined versions of his long-form instrumental pieces.
Constellation Records are releasing a new Sandro Perri full-length album in the fall of 2007 entitled "Tiny Mirrors".
