SANTA MARIA COGHINAS

'Santa Maria Coghinas' is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Sassari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 190 km north of Cagliari and about 35 km northeast of Sassari. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,430 and an area of 22.0 km².^[1]
The municipality of Santa Maria Coghinas contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Buroni, La Scalitta, and Longareddu.
Santa Maria Coghinas borders the following municipalities: Bortigiadas, Bulzi, Perfugas, Sedini, Valledoria, Viddalba.
