SANTA SUSANA PASS
'Santa Susana Pass' is a mountain pass connecting Simi Valley to the San Fernando Valley.
The road used to be an Indian trail, and later a wagon road (a famous part was called Devil's Slide) before the road was paved. The old Santa Susana Pass road is dangerous, with 55 incidents reported between 1998 and 2005. California State Route 118 now runs through the pass. The pass separates the Simi Hills to the south, and Santa Susana Mountains to the north. The road was made infamous in the late 1960s by the Manson Family, which was headquartered at the Spahn Movie Ranch. The pass separates the Simi Hills to the south, and Santa Susana Mountains to the north.
