SCARBOROUGH RAILWAY STATION

'Scarborough railway station' serves the seaside town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. It lies at the end of the Yorkshire Coast Line and North TransPennine route and is operated by TransPennine Express, which is their Scarborough to Liverpool Lime Street service, calling at Scarborough, Seamer, Malton, York, Garforth, Leeds, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Stalybridge, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Oxford Road, Birchwood, Warrington Central, and Liverpool Lime Street. It has the longest station seat in the world at 139m.
Until the 1965 the station also served a line from Whitby and until 1950 from Pickering.
Scarborough also sees summer specials from York, hauled by LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman. However, in times of trouble, the seaside specials have been known to be hauled by any other available steam locomotives at York, seen here when 30777 St Lamiel stands in for the legendary loco.
