Weaponry

According to Worf's dialog, the ''Scimitar'' possesses 52 disruptor banks and 27 photon torpedo launchers.
Thalaron weapon

The ''Scimitar'' possesses a thalaron radiation weapon, which was considered theoretical by Federation scientists, with research into the subject being banned. The ''Scimitar'' can produce large amounts of the deadly radiation, enough to eradicate all life on a planet.

Defenses

The ''Scimitar'' has primary regenerative shields and secondary shields. The ship is also equipped with a cloaking device that can operate while the ship fires its weapons.

Attack fliers

A ''Scorpion''-class flier

The ''Scimitar'' carries several ''Scorpion''-class attack fliers. A flier stolen by Jean-Luc Picard and Data in their escape from the ''Scimitar'' seats two occupants and has at least one forward disruptor cannon.

Destruction

Shinzon intends to use the ''Scimitar'' to destroy Earth as the prelude to a Romulan invasion. It engages the ''Enterprise''-E in the Bassen Rift. The ''Enterprise'', with help from two Romulan warships, disables the ''Scimitar'''s cloaking device. In the process, the ''Enterprise'' exhausts its photon torpedoes and almost all of its phaser banks, and both Romulan warbirds are disabled. The ''Enterprise'' then rams the ''Scimitar'', disabling most of the latter's primary conventional weapons systems, but the ''Scimitar'' and its thalaron weapon remain operational.
Shinzon orders the thalaron weapon fired at the ''Enterprise''. Immediately before it fires, Data discharges his phaser into the thalaron activation matrix, destroying the weapon, himself, and the ship.
