SCOLT HEAD ISLAND

'Scolt Head Island' is an offshore barrier island in Brancaster Staithe, 10 km west of Wells-next-the-Sea, in northern Norfolk, United Kingdom. It is a National Nature Reserve. It is steadily growing westwards toward the wreck of the SS Vina visible from Brancaster Beach.
The island comprises sand dunes, saltmarsh, intertidal sand and mud flats, and shingle. It supports nationally and internationally important numbers of breeding Sandwich Tern, Roseate Terns, Arctic Terns and Little Terns, as well as wintering waders and wildfowl.
A seasonal (spring/summer) ferry connects the island with the village of Burnham Overy Staithe.
