Sean was presented to the show as a son of Gregory (Sam Behrens) and Olivia Richards (Lesley-Anne Down), who always tried to find his way into life. He started a romance with Tiffany Thorne (Adrienne Frantz, then Jennifer Banko), and found himself in a triangle with Tiffany and Mark Wolper (Nick Stabile). After Tiffany was written out due to a lack of storyline, Sean was one of the survivors of the Terror Island storyline. He found love again in June 1998, when he met Emily Davis (Cristi Harris), but their love was constantly tested by Amy Nielsen (Krissy Carlson), a girl who always tried to find a way to break them up and get Sean, also using Brad Niklaus (Michael Strickland). Amy's plot payed off when she used a potion that she bough from Mrs. Moreau (Joyce Guy) and led Sean to her bed. At the very end, Sean ended with his true love, and Amy decided to find love with Brad.
