SEED SAVERS EXCHANGE

'Seed Savers Exchange', or 'SSE', is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving various heirloom plant varieties. It collects lists of seeds from its members and publishes their contact information in catalogues, which are distributed to those members so they may request seeds from each other.
It was founded in 1975 by Kent Whealy and his ex-wife Diane Whealy, and is reputed to have preserved many lines of seeds, an obvious example being the rediscovery of the Brandywine tomato, among the most popular home garden tomato varieties in the United States.
