Simon of Apulia was an native of Italy who became Dean of York[1] and a canon lawyer[2] before being elected as bishop of Exeter.
He was elected to Exeter about April 13, 1214 and consecrated on October 5, 1214. He died September 9, 1223.Powicke ''Handbook of British Chronology'' p. 225
