SINGEN (HOHENTWIEL)
'Singen (Hohentwiel)' is a city in the very south of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is an industrial town located north of the German-Swiss border. It is situated within close proximity of a large lake known as the Bodensee or Lake Constance.
The most famous sight of Singen is Hohentwiel mountain, a volcano that became extinct a long time ago. On top of the mountain lies Hohentwiel fortress. The castle that once stood there was destroyed by French troops during the Napoleonic Wars.
Further sights in Singen are the Geographic Museum and the local Saint Martin Church with its Gothic tower (77 meter).
