MUSCLE RELAXANT

A 'muscle relaxant' is a drug which decreases the tone of a muscle. This effect may be used to alleviate symptoms such as muscle spasm, pain, hyperreflexia, and gastrointestinal overactivity, such as in irritable bowel syndrome. See also Neuromuscular-blocking drugs.
