'South-eastern Canada' is the region of Canada generally considered to be the most southern in the country. South of 50th parallel, consisting of the following provinces:

Although ''Eastern Canada'' typically refers to the above provinces, especially to foreigners and residents of Western Canada, the region is often subdivided into Central Canada (Ontario and Quebec) and Atlantic Canada (the Maritimes and Newfoundland and Labrador). To many residents of Atlantic Canada, the term "Eastern Canada" refers only to that region.
Historically, Canada East refers to the eastern portion of the former Province of Canada. This region was formally a colony called Lower Canada.

Population

The total population of this region is about 22,507,099, or about 70% of Canada's population. Most of the population resides in Ontario (nearly 13 million) and Quebec (nearly 8 Million).

Geography

South-eastern Canada is only a geographical region. This is because it only contains part of two major provinces, Ontario and Quebec. South-eastern Canada is the most populated region in the country, it is home too two of the largest cities in Canada Toronto and Montreal.
The Climate of South-eastern Canada is moderate, but more extreme in the interior and more mild in the exterior. The area is covered in mixed forest but mostly dominated by Broad-leaf Deciduous trees.
