SOUTHERN LORD RECORDS

'Southern Lord' is an American record label, founded in 1998 by Greg Anderson and Stephen O'Malley, specializing in doom, sludge, drone and experimental metal. The label name is a reference to Satan. [1] They are the home of influential and widely praised bands like Pentagram, Goatsnake, Boris, Khanate, and Sunn O))), among others. In recent years, the label has expanded their repertoire to include projects from the more abstract side of the black metal genre, including releases by Twilight, Lurker of Chalice, Craft, Nortt, and Striborg. Stephen O'Malley creates roughly 90% of the label's artwork.
