SOVICILLE

'Sovicille' is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Siena in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 60 km south of Florence and about 10 km southwest of Siena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,800 and an area of 143.7 km².^[1]
The municipality of Sovicille contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Rosia, San Rocco a Pilli, and Volte Basse.
Sovicille borders the following municipalities: Casole d'Elsa, Chiusdino, Monteriggioni, Monteroni d'Arbia, Monticiano, Murlo, Siena.
