ST BEES SCHOOL

'St Bees School', Cumbria, situated in a rural location on the edge of the Lake District in the village of St Bees on the Cumbrian coast, is an independent school.
Founded in 1583 by Archbishop Grindal, who was Bishop of London, Archbishop of York and then Archbishop of Canterbury, St. Bees School has approximately 300 students – both boys and girls – aged between 11 and 18 years old. Some students stay at the school as boarders, others are day pupils.
In 2000, to mark the millennium, a time capsule was buried in the South-West corner of the quad.
