'State Route 34' is a 13-mile long state highway in Talladega County and St. Clair County. The eastern terminus of the route is at the junction with State Route 77 north of Talladega. The western terminus of the route is at the junction with U.S. Route 231 just south of the city limits of Pell City.
S.R. 34 is a two lane highway that passes through rural areas in eastern Alabama. Besides the routes it intersects at its termini, it does not intersect with any other state routes or U.S. highways. Besides connecting the cities of Talladega and Pell City, one of the main functions of S.R. 34 is that serves as one of several routes that leads motorists to and from Talladega Superspeedway, the site of two NASCAR Nextel Cup races.
