STEPASIDE, DUBLIN
'Stepaside' is a remote suburb of Dublin with a postcode of Dublin 18, in the county of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland, situated on the R117 regional road, a the foot of Three Rock Mountain.

Location and Access
Neighbouring areas of Stepaside include Kilternan, Ballyogan, Sandyford, Leopardstown, Carrickmines and Glencullen. It is 4km south of Dundrum Town Centre.
Stepaside is serviced by the "44" and "118" Dublin Bus services and also by the "46b" which runs from the Belarmine estate north of Stepaside.
The Luas green line is currently being extended to Cherrywood, via the top of ''Murphystown Road'' and ''Ballyogan road'', the nearest stop will be a kilometer from the centre of Stepaside.
The nearest entry point on to the M50 motorway both Northbound and Southbound is at the roundabout on ''Leopardstown Road'', near the Beacon Hotel and Bewleys Hotel in the now huge ''city-like'' Sandyford Industrial Estate.
Development
Since 2002 the Stepaside area has witnessed an extensive home building program and an accompanying large growth in population. Previously a separate rural village, it has been absorbed by the Dublin conurbation to the north and east. Demographically, Stepaside is mainly white and middle class including English, Polish, and other eastern Europeans.
Eight new shops and a small bar and restaurant are currently being built on the site of the old Mountain View bar and restaurant.
Features
'Kilgobbin Cross' is a plain granite wheel cross with a representation of the crucifixion carved on both sides (Probably originally erected in the 12th Century) is located to the north of Stepaside Village off Kilgobbin Lane.
Old Wesley Rugby Club is also located in Kilgobbin Lane. It is due to be demolished to make way for housing.
