STOLTZFUS SPREADERS
'Stoltzfus Spreaders' is a US-based manufacturing company located in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. The company specializes in building heavy duty spreaders for wet lime, fertilizer, Portland cement, and other hard to spread materials.
Stoltzfus Spreaders was founded in 1945 by Christian U. Stoltzfus in an old water-powered feed mill in an area just outside of Morgantown, PA known locally as Goosetown. Over the years, the company operated as Broadfall Spreaders and Willow Glen Industries. In 1968, the company was officially incorporated in Pennsylvania as C.U. Stoltzfus Mfg., Inc. with offices in Morgantown, PA. The company currently does business as Stoltzfus Spreaders.
The first products were truck-mounted boom-style lime spreaders followed by tractor-drawn units that were designed for fertilizer dealers.
In 1978, the company introduced a new spinner style lime spreader that allowed individual farmers to buy inexpensive lime and stockpile it in their fields for spreading at a later date.
In 2002, the company introduced a new mechanical cement spreader for spreading Portland cement for the soil stabilization and soil cement processes. The cement spreaders are sold under the Stoltz Site Spreader brand name.
In 2006, Stoltzfus Spreaders introduced a new soil stabilization cement spreader. The Stoltz A2 uses a dual auger discharge mechanism and a patent pending slide gate to further reduce dust while loading and spreading.
