About Stomio
The former name of Stomio was Tsagezi (Τσάγεζι). It's geographical spot combines the beauty of the mountain with the incomparable one of the sea. The dense vegetation of Mount Ossa (Kissavos) reaches the beaches of the Aegean Sea and the Pineios River (Thessaly) Delta. The ancient city Eurymenae (Eurymenes) was in the Stomio area. A Byzantine period monastery (the Saint Demetrius Greek Orthodox Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Komnineiou by Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos) is located near Stomio.
