"'Stranglehold'" is a single and the first track off of Ted Nugent's self-titled 1975 album. The song is used on the radio station V-Rock in the video game, ''.
During the first Gulf War in 1991, just prior to the beginning of the fighting, the U.S. troops had lined up along the edge of the trenches where Iraqi soldiers were. In CNN's coverage, they talked about how the U.S. soldiers were blasting rock and roll music at the Iraqis. They showed mammoth amplifiers and speakers, and while they did not mention the name of the song that was being played, it was in fact this song "Stranglehold".
The song was covered by the American progressive rock band Tool during a few of their performances in 1998.
