SUCCOTH-BENOTH

'Succoth-benoth' or 'Succoth Benoth' was a Babylonian deity, one of the deities of the city of Samaria mentioned by name in 2 Kings 17:30.[1] The Bible says that these deities were idols, although the Samaritans were not punished because they worshipped the God of the Israelites as well. Like Ashima, the identity of Succoth-benoth is unknown.

'Succoth' is another term for Sukkot, a Jewish festival, from Hebrew ''sukkah'', meaning a booth or hut. ' ''succoth-benoth'' ' may have been a Babylonian variant.
