SUPER STARDUST HD

'Super Stardust HD' is a downloadable game for the PlayStation 3 video game console developed by the Finnish company Housemarque. The game objective is similar to the classic ''Asteroids'' that requires the player to destroy virtually everything on screen combined with a frenetic pace that is more reminiscent of modern titles such as ''Geometry Wars''. The game itself is an enhanced version of the classic Amiga game ''Super Stardust'', itself a sequel to the game ''Stardust.
According to ''Super Stardust HD'' worldwide game scores, the game has sold about 25,000 copies within the first five days of its release.

Gameplay

From 1up.com:
"You control a tiny spacecraft that hovers over planets. Your mission is simple: destroy everything in sight. The ship has three different weapons, each of which has a different impact on the various asteroids and ice crystals floating around. For example, while some weapons are able to break asteroids more effectively than others, they create far more debris as well. After blowing up enough asteroids and crystals, enemies appear -- once you eliminate those, you move onto the next phase. Each planet has five phases, with the last featuring a boss battle."
