SUTHERLAND RAILWAY STATION, SYDNEY
'Sutherland' is a railway station on the Illawarra Line of the CityRail network, servicing the Sydney suburb of Sutherland. Sutherland also serves as a stop for the South Coast Line. Sutherland is the junction of the Illawarra line and the Cronulla line, with services continuing both along the mainline to Waterfall, and along the branch to the coastal suburb of Cronulla. Sutherland has three platforms: Platform 1 is for city-bound services, Platform 2 is generally used for Waterfall and South Coast services, while Platform 3 is typically used by Cronulla-bound services.

Services
Sutherland typically receives four to six trains per hour during weekday peak-hour and four trains per hour on weekends (a half-hourly service to and from both Cronulla and Waterfall), with more services during weekday peak hours. The occasional service also terminates here, although this is rare (before timetable changes in 2004, weekend services also included two trains per hour terminating at Sutherland).
