SWANLINBAR
'Swanlinbar' () is small village situated in north-west County Cavan, Ireland, close to the Cladagh river, and near the Fermanagh border.
The village is in the barony of Tullyhaw.
The Irish name ''Iron Mill'' reflects the foundation of the town and as does the name ''Swanlinbar'' which derives from the four entrepreneurs who built an iron foundry by the river in the early 18th century. ''Swandlingbar'' was the name given by the founders Swift, Sanders, Darling and Barry. By 1850 the name of ''Swanlinbar'' was the common usage.
In the 1860s Swanlinbar had the most celebrated of Cavan's numerous mineral springs.[1]
