TAI WAI STATION

'Tai Wai Station' (Chinese: 大圍站) is a station on and the southwestern terminus of the . It is located in Tai Wai.
The station was originally opened in 1983 as a midway station of East Rail. In 2001, the station began to expand and the construction ended in September 2004. The new concourse part was opened at first in the same month. Since 21 December 2004, the station has served as the terminus of the Ma On Shan Rail, as well as the interchange station between two lines.
It will also be an interchange station to MTR's proposed railway 'Sha Tin to Central Link'.

All platforms are sided platforms. Platforms 3 and 4 are slightly higher than Platforms 1 and 2. There are several walkways connecting platform 3 and 2 for interchanging.
It is notable that the Ma On Shan Rail Terminus part uses continental travelling mode, which facilitates interchange from Ma On Shan Rail to East Rail. There is room for the Ma On Shan Rail trains to reverse.
