'Taihoku Prefecture' (Kanji: 台北州, Rōmaji: ''Taihokushû'') was created in 1920. Its office, which is now occupied by the Control Yuan of the Republic of China, was in Taipei City. There were one city (市) and nine districts (郡) in Taihoku Prefecture in 1920.
